Gear Labs is a creative tech playground for teens who want to explore music, lighting, and live event production in a hands-on way. This free after-school program gives students access to real DJ gear, sound systems, production software, lighting equipment, and much more. Through weekly focus labs and mentorship from working professionals, students can build confidence and skills while working on creative projects.

Students learn by doing: setting up real sound systems, making beats, mixing on DJ decks, experimenting with lighting, editing, and creating projects. Instead of sitting through long presentations, participants jump into the gear and develop creative projects in a safe, supportive environment throughout the school year.

NOTE: Participation in Gear Labs requires advance registration and completion of all required forms. Registration is accepted on a rolling basis, and there is no specific deadline to apply. Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Tech25. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian must complete and sign all registration materials, waivers, and media release forms prior to attendance. No student may participate without fully completed documentation on file.
